Unheard Environment

Removing the dirt from a window pane

During the time of Covid-19, while most of the people are forced to be inside, sound artist Manuel Oberkalmsteiner came up with the idea of recording a series of field recordings named „Unheard Environment“. The actual situation allows the artist to record familiar surroundings in a way, they sounded the last time many many years ago. Environments without human interaction: „It's like removing the dirt from a window pane and seeing what's happening outside always clearer and clearer“.
